Adding a custom dictionary like LexisMed to Word is pretty straightforward. Just a few steps and you're ready to go.

  1. Download the dictionary, and open the zip file.
  2. Extract all.dic to a directory you'll remember. (With the rest of your documents is probably best.) On my computer, this is my Documents folder.
  3. Open Word, and then go to the Tools menu. From there, hit Options, and then hit the "Spelling and Grammar" tab. It should be in the top row. (screenshot)
  4. Click the button that says "Custom Dictionaries…"
  5. Click "Add…"
  6. Find your file(s).
  7. Click OK a bunch of times

Back to the LexisMed main page
